Vacuum diffusion bonding of titanium sandwich panels for spacecraft
Background and process solution

The panel stack pairs 0.8 mm skins with laser-cut cores; after bonding there must be no unbonded areas and skin distortion must stay under 0.3 mm.

The JVDB-800 furnace offers an 800×800 mm equal-pressure chamber with ±2 ℃ uniformity, using staged loading up to 15 MPa and a three-hour diffusion cycle at 950 ℃.

Servo-hydraulic pressure closed loop plus displacement monitoring archive pressure, temperature and displacement curves for every cycle, meeting aerospace process-audit requirements.

Results

92% base-metal strength retained, sealing passed first time, lead time cut from 11 to 6 days, third-party European audit passed.
